The Strategic Impact of Disruption and Counter-Positioning
This segment will offer useful strategic insight on the impact of technological disruption both from the perspective of the incumbent as well as the challenger. Many industries today irrespective of size are subject to the forces of technological disruption. For example, Kodak, one of the world’s most successful companies that practically invented film-based photography was eliminated from the marketplace with the rise of the digital camera. Were Kodak executives asleep at the wheel? Was management incompetent in dealing with the digital threat? To answer this, not exactly.
